How to choose
- Lowest price with two motors: the H8.
- Rough trails: the Forester or the Falcon, both full suspension.
- Easier to get on and off: the step-thru Falcon versions.
- Dirt-bike style riding off-road: the STARX, with a mid-drive motor at the pedals.
Philodo also lists the H7 Pro, H7 Ultra, Hunter, Traveller cargo and T1 models, which were out of stock when we checked.
Speed and the law: claimed top speeds of 40-50 mph are far above the US Class 1-3 e-bike limits of 20 or 28 mph. In many states a bike this fast is treated as an off-road or motor vehicle, not an e-bike. Check local rules before riding on roads or bike paths.
