Why the US and EU lists are separate

E-bikes are regulated differently. In the EU a standard pedelec is limited to a 250 W motor that stops assisting at 25 km/h (EN 15194). US rules use classes, and many US bikes have motors up to 750 W with assist up to 20 or 28 mph. A US-spec bike is generally not road-legal as a pedelec in the EU, so we keep the lists apart.
